چکیده

I have read in “Indian Pediatrics” November 2002 issue that “Fluoridated toothpaste can be safely recommended to children above 6 years old.” But, “Indian Pediatrics, April 2010 recommended that “toothbrushing of all dentate children should be performed with a fluoridated toothpaste.” I want to know the exact time to start a fluoridated toothpaste in a child. Determination of Oseltamivir Resistance Level by an H275Y Genotyping Assay among Influenza A (H1N1) Viruses in Hamadan Province, Iran

Introduction: Epidemics and deaths caused by influenza viruses are an important concern worldwide. The use of neuraminidase inhibitors such as oseltamivir is an effective and valuable way to treat the diseases caused by these viruses. Use of intravenous zanamivir after development of oseltamivir resistance in a critically Ill immunosuppressed child infected with 2009 pandemic influenza A (H1N1) virus.

Immunosuppressed patients receiving oseltamivir for 2009 novel H1N1 influenza A infection may develop drug resistance, leading to treatment failure. Intravenous zanamivir was administered on a compassionate-use basis to a profoundly immunosuppressed pediatric patient with severe oseltamivir-resistant novel H1N1 pneumonia. The regimen was well tolerated and was associated with a decrease in vira...

Emergence of Multidrug-Resistant Influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 Virus Variants in an Immunocompromised Child Treated With Oseltamivir and Zanamivir.

Prolonged treatment of an immunocompromised child with oseltamivir and zanamivir for A(H1N1)pdm09 virus infection led to the emergence of viruses carrying H275Y and/or E119G in the neuraminidase (NA). When phenotypically evaluated by NA inhibition, the dual H275Y-E119G substitution caused highly reduced inhibition by 4 NA inhibitors: oseltamivir, zanamivir, peramivir, and laninamivir.
